It Happened.

You know what can really make your day? A raise? A hug? A clean bathroom that you didn't have to clean? A pedicure? Yes, all those things are great. Today however, it's pulling up your grades and seeing five "A's" in the column. That's right - I worked my tail off so I'm going to brag on myself...... I got a 4.0! 15 credit hours, working full time and a 50 mile commute on top of it all and I pulled it off. I have to say, it really made my day. Thanks to everyone for their support, for not being mad at me when I can't call/see/e-mail you for weeks on end because I am holed up doing homework, driving my car or hanging out at the Willey. One more semester everyone. One more semester and I am a college graduate.

And Five Months Later......

I'VE MOVED IN! Well, I've hung pictures on the wall and finally decided on the furniture pieces I've been looking for. Working in a furniture store doesn't necessarily make these decisions any easier. I really wanted to paint and add some color but, my life at the moment does not allow any extra time for that. So, I went with the neutral look. It's still not 100% done but a heck of a lot closer than it has been since I've been in school. Here it is: So, there are no Christmas decorations up. I learned my lesson last year when the tree was up until March and I just had to drag it into the corner until I had time to deal with it. With my first day back to school being January 2, I made the executive decision to just not put it all up. School is done until January. Grades come out on Tuesday and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Sleep. It is NOT overrated.

I NEED sleep. How can I write an intelligent paper when I just want to close my eyes and go to sleep? Friday......I just have to make it until Friday. I did have a great holiday weekend with Shannon and her family. We ate, played with little people and I put together one of my final portfolio's for my education classes. So thankful for my family and all they do for me. :) For now, I'll jut keep my eyes open until I hit the send button on my history paper which examines the responsibilities nations have to help in preventing mass atrocities and genocide around the world. Fun, huh? One more semester. One more semester. One more semester........ (it's my mantra) ps - By the way, my oldest nephew, Dustin, turns 16 today. Man, I'm getting old.

Did You Exercise Your Right?

First - an update on Tyler. After further diagnosis, he does not have lymphoma as his tumors came back benign . He does have what is called Juvenile Angiofibroma . A very serious condition and they still need your thoughts and prayers . I left work a little early so I could go cast my vote , as it is my duty! Um, are we in the Beehive State behind the times with the electronic voting? Or perhaps it was my old district. We still used the groovy chad producing punch cards. I was concerned for a minute. I didn't want to screw up my vote. Anywho, I'm a smart girl , I figured it out. It has been raining/snowing all day and I have to say - I'm not up for the whole winter thing. I just keep saying to myself how great Hawaii would be about right now......or Cancun, or Puerto Rico or Australia ------ you get the idea. Sarah hit the big ONE last week. Happy Birthday! It made me think, that was when I started this sad, not updated enough blog. I'm going to work on ...

Fall is Here

I should be doing my homework. I have been, but I need a break . And - I have a test tomorrow that as of this moment, I have not a CLUE what to study. :) It's been a good few days. The big birthday came my way. I had school as usual in the morning and then went to my favorite spa and had my annual birthday facial . My sister's gave me one for my birthday a few years ago and it was so fabulous, I've made it a tradition for myself. If you haven't ever indulged , I highly suggest it. It was a great. After that, Naomi and I met up, ate some lunch and then did a little outlet shopping . We had fun. Thanks to everyone who called -- I appreciated the singing too! Halloween is coming! Not that I am into dressing up but, I love to see the kids all dressed up. My little Ben was trying on his big brother's fireman hat -- they're just all so cute. This also means fall is officially here and sadly enough, cold weather will be here to stay. And finally, just somet...

You Know........

How great is it to be able to work hard for something and have such a fantastic reward at the end? We are all lucky to have so many opportunities and the ability to do and accomplish the things that we desire to. I have worked so hard over the past year and a half in school and the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter by the day. A couple years ago I never would have thought that I would be here. Life is good. The blessings that we receive are so numerous, even when we feel we are undeserving. I get so much love and support from my sisters and their families; I don't know what I would do without them. I always have someone to put their arms around me, even when they're tiny arms that only go around my neck. With all of that, for those that had the smarts to get married while still in your 20's, be glad for the LDS 31 and "over" life that you have saved yourselves from. I would just like to tell you all that the senior set knows how to have a go...

Is It Wise to Have Your Photo Taken Next to a Supermodel?

Not really, but I did it anyway. She was in town to make an appearance at RCW for her furniture line. She was very nice. For those that missed the 90's, that's Cindy Crawford. Anywho --- school started. I'm into the third week and the only thing I know for sure is that I'm tired all the time. One day at a time. Twenty one credits causes anxiety. I don't recommend it. At least this time of year always goes by quickly. That's what I keep telling myself. Tomorrow is Eli's birthday. He'll be three. Happy Birthday!

Do YOU Know What a 4.0 Looks Like?

Well, neither do I. Why, why, why do professors give you an A- when you totally think you're going to get an A?! I'm slightly irritated because this is the same professor that did this to me last time. 3.97 is nice and all but not the best. I just want once, in my college career, to get a 4.0. Is that really too much to ask????? I am officially entering my last year of school. I start the education program on August 25th - my fifth semester in a row. Am I insane? Yes, I ask myself that often. An update on the house: it still looks like I just moved in yesterday. I really hope to get more boxes unpacked and some pictures hung. If I do this, I can actually take pictures to share.

Camping

Last weekend, we went camping. Well, camping is a relative term for me. I went up Saturday evening, spent the night in the back of my sister's car on an air mattress and came home Sunday afternoon. It was a ton of fun. I would have stayed longer had I not had an assignment due the next day that I hadn't even started. My three sisters, that are married, each have a two year old. There is only a seven month span between the time Eli was born, then six months later came Ava and then seven weeks after that Ben rounded out the three. I would like to take this moment to mention --- I got in a car and drove to Canada a few years ago with these three pregnant women. Anywho, these three little ones crack me up. Trying to get a picture with them is impossible. Just getting them to look at you at the same time is a feat. The looks on their faces.....they thought I was crazy. I just love these little people. Being an Auntie has to be one of the greatest things ever.

Swim Party

My sister Shannon has a pool and we all invaded her yesterday. All 22 of us. There are fourteen kids alone. It's tons of fun and the kids just play and play. Gotta love the action shots Fun day! Thanks to Shannon and David for always allowing us to gather at their house and for making my favorite, fantastic potato salad.

New House

I really wanted to post sooner but, I had a small problem - I couldn't find anything I needed to actually get the photo's off my camera. This is one of the front room I took the day I picked up my keys. Once I got moved in, there was so much stuff everywhere, it was too scary to take pictures. I'm getting there though, slowly but surely. I'm not home much between work, school and taking the train to Salt Lake. There will be more to come though, I promise. I'm going to get some pictures put up more boxes put away. I can't stand the mess. That's the thing about moving -- once all the boxes are in the space, you actually have to open them and put the stuff away. :)

Independence Day

Happy 4th of July! I went to the Stadium of Fire in Provo on Friday. The best part was the big flag, singing the National Anthem and having a fly by from the fighter jets from Hill. It always gives me chills and makes me all teary. ok.....look really, really close. Can you see the black specs in the sky? What could they be, you ask? That's right.....people. People jumping out of airplanes to land in the stadium in out of control wind. One word -anxiety. It stressed me out so bad that they were going to smash into the lights or something but....... They made it and brought all of the flags in with them. I didn't really care for the tweeny-bopper performer who shall remain nameless and am glad I have never paid money in Vegas to see the Blue Man Group. There were awesome fireworks, my sister was my great plus one and we went for free. Fun was had and I was even in bed before 1 am. Hope you all had a great 4th as well.

Moving Day

Well, it's official. I am a home owner again. Tomorrow, with the help of my brothers-in-law and my ever growing nephews, is moving day. I can't wait to get in, get settled, and DECORATE! That is one of the best parts about moving......new walls to paint with all the colors I thought about doing after I painted in my other house. I'll post pictures in the coming days. YEAH!!!

I Live!

Ok, does anyone even look at my blog anymore it has been so long??? You'll have to say "Hi" if you do -- so I know it's still worth posting. Things have been crazy busy and the time has gone by so fast. I obviously finished the semester, although it seemed to drag on forever. There wasn't much break as a week later, summer semester started. I'm busy but, the end is coming closer and I'll be graduating before we know it. Also, I'll be moving next week. I found a townhouse that is about 3 miles from Shannon and David in North Ogden. It's quite a drive to work but, come fall, I'll be in Ogden on Campus anyway. I'm really quite excited. It's really cute and has plenty of space. AND, the best part? No Yard Work! I don't have to shovel any snow either. This is my kind of place! I'll post pictures once I get moved in and actually hang things on the walls. It will be nice to have my own place again and actually unpack all my ...

Jackson Hole

Three of my sisters and I went to Jackson Hole, Wyoming the first weekend in June. It was FREEZING but, we had so much fun. We went to Jenny Lake, did some shopping and saw the Bar J Wranglers. We saw a couple of mama Moose and their babies. They disguised themselves so well amongst the brush. If you look right in the middle you can see her head and ears. Jenny lake was gorgeous. We hiked around the edge, even though it was so cold. It was great to have such clean, mountain air to breathe. We saw the Bar J Wranglers. You go to their ranch and have a chuckwagon dinner. The entertainment is great. They perform old cowboy music and some skits. It's hilarious. We laughed our guts out. A must see if going to Jackson. I can't wait to go next year.

The Big 2!

The sun is shining, the sun is shining!! Today anyway. Yesterday was my niece Ava's birthday. She is a hilarious two year old. I could barely get her to hold still long enough to take her picture. We met at a McDonald's playplace because let's face it, where else do you go to let kids play when there is a blizzard outside? It's always fun to get together and see all the kids, especially when they are playing together. It was a quick stop for me as I had just taken a test and had to finish writing a paper. (my sister Rachel and my Mom) I can't wait for Spring and the end of the semester!

Homework........Does it Ever End?

I should be doing my homework at this exact moment in time but you know, after 40 pages of Public Administration, a break is necessary. I would like to announce that....... we have seen the sun and 40 degrees! Hallelujah! I am sick of the snow and so ready for spring. At this time of year it feels like winter is going to last forever and I just don't have the extra time to shovel any more snow. I am well in to my third semester of this whole going back to school thing and have three more to go. Sometimes I wonder if it is all going to be worth it. All the time it takes and all the $$$$$$$$$! I suppose that first long summer vacation I have will make it all worth it. Well, that's the me update: studying, working and shoveling snow. We do have two birthdays this week - my nephew Caleb and my sister Naomi. Why is it that you feel older the bigger the little kids get? So, here's a picture of my Bub who will be the big five tomorrow and my LITTLE sister will by 29 next we...

President Hinckley and My Grandpa

Today, I went to the Conference Center for President Hinckley's viewing. What a wonderful blessing to live close enough to be able to pay my respects to our Prophet. We didn't have to wait outside very long as they had us winding through the Conference Center. It was quite emotional. After we passed the casket, there were several flower arrangements from his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It was extremely sweet. So many tender things....... It was a beautiful day. Cold but, no wind and no snow. I was able to take a photo of the reflection pool in front of the temple with still water. On Sunday night, my sister called to tell me that he had died. I was reading and didn't have the tv on. I immediately started to cry. I have images of him so fresh in my mind as I went to his ward several weeks ago. I was there with my sister, her family and my Uncle Peter from Canada. It is the only time I have seen him that close. We were sitting a few rows and t...

Happy New Year

Happy 2008! It has been a great holiday season with family visiting and lots to do. We have all been busy visiting, eating, shopping and enjoying one another's company. I'm a bit tired - a sleep deprivation hang over but, I'm working on catching up. We spent a lot of time at my sister Shannon's house. It was a central point for us to get together. She's also better at hosting 30 people than I. We had nineteen kids running around. My cousins (this is Kayla and my niece Ava) are really great at helping us with the little kids so, it doesn't seem like that many. We were together so much that the kids had a blast. It's fun to see them get a bit older and play really well with one another. McKade and Caleb were like two little chatterboxes. It's great that the little boys have each other to play with. It was so cute to see. Since I'm always the one taking all the pictures, there aren't very many of me so, this is the only one I have. Ava w...
